Skiing

As part of Dolomiti Superski, the world's largest skiing area, and of the nearby Alpe di Siusi, Val Gardena is a paradise for all winter sports enthusiasts. With just one ski pass you can use all the lifts in the Dolomites, with 500 km of connected slopes around the Sella massif and a total of 1,220 km of slopes in 12 ski areas. The Sellaronda, a circular ski route leading round the mighty Sella massif, is a unique experience. Our private shuttle will take you to the valley stations of the lifts in the morning. In the evening, you can get back to our hotel on a comfortable ski trail.

Cross-country skiing

Val Gardena is definitely a true Eldorado for all cross-country skiing fans with more than 115 km of cross-country trails of all levels of difficulty: Monte Pana in S. Cristina and the Alpe di Siusi above Ortisei offer unique and fantastic sceneries. Moreover, the Vallunga in Selva di Val Gardena is located in the Puez-Odle Nature Park and can be reached on foot from the Chalet S Dolomites in approx. 15-20 minutes. The crystal-clear air, the snow-covered meadows and forests, the impressive Dolomite mountains: come and discover a little cross-country paradise!

Toboggan

How about a sledge ride? From the mountain station of the Resciesa funicular in Ortisei, a perfectly groomed 6 km toboggan run leads down to the valley. The Alpe di Siusi also offers numerous beautiful toboggan trails. Whether easy or challenging, there is something for everyone. Please note, that tobogganing on the ski slopes is strictly forbidden.

The ice rink Pranives in Selva offers perfect ice conditions throughout the whole year. Besides ice skating and curling, there are regularly shows of famous national and international figure skaters, disco music evenings and ice skating lessons. Mountainbike

Since ever the mountain passes in the Dolomites have been a real challenge for cyclers. This makes them one of the most exciting highlights. In the past, the imposing Sella Mountain Group represented an invincible target for mountain bike lovers. Accompanied by a guide and with the aid of lifts to reach the top of the four Dolomite passes Gardena, Campolongo, Pordoi and Sella it is now possible, in just one day, to get around the Gruppo Sella by mountain bike (clockwise or counter-clockwise).

Nordic Walking

Nordic walking is ideal for those who want to improve their walking fitness and make correct movements also in everyday life. Nordic walking involves the same movements as cross-country skiing, but it is mainly enjoyed through fields and on roads, which are not covered by snow. Thanks to the use of walking poles it is possible to cover medium to long distances. Since we are partners of Val Gardena Active, you can take part in a beginner’s course free of charge. You can also borrow Nordic Walking poles at the hotel.
